Very few creatures attract so much immediate interest and public appeal than the Otter. Since its full legal protection in Great Britian under Schedule 5 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, the European Otter, Lutra lutra, has continued in its rising popularity and almost become the symbol of a healthy wetland environment.
