The Loch of Strathbeg Nature Reserve covers 1,050ha and is owned and managed by the RSPB. At 220ha, the loch is the largest dune pool in Britain, and is surrounded by fen, reedswamp, sand dunes and farmland. Its location on the north-east coast of Scotland makes it of paramount importance as a migration and wintering site for waterfowl, including up to 20% of the world population of Pink-footed Geese.
