Over the last ten years there has been a marked increase in the number of people getting involved with caring for orphaned, sick or injured animals. Partly this is due to an increased awareness of the threats that face wildlife and a compassionate desire to help. It is also a fact that much more information is now available, and many more vets seem willing to become involved, too. We even have specialised wildlife hospitals, as well as the RSPCA animal clinics and rescue centres.
