By way of complete contrast to the small, lowland East Anglican reserve of Cley in the last issue, this time we look at the vast west Highland Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve. Set amongst some of the most dramatic mountain scenery in Britain, on the west coast of Scotland, south of Loch Maree, this marvellous reserve is of major importance to conservation in many ways. It was also the first National Nature Reserve to be declared in Britain.
