Interest in British dragonflies has never been higher, and there are now more books than ever to help in the quest to identify species. Of the 40 or more British species, most are relatively easy to identify by virtue of their colour markings, habitat and habits, though there are still groups of species that may cause confusion, especially to the beginner, of which the largest is the range of blue damselflies belonging to the genera Coenagrion and Enallagma.
