Surrounded by the suburbs of Walsall and Birmingham, Sutton Park is the only biological National Nature Reserve in Britain which lies completely within an urban area. Covering some 900ha, Sutton Park is part of a series of heathlands and acid woodlands extending from Staffordshire (Cannock Chase, Highgate Common, Kinver Edge, Hartlebury Common) to the remnants of the Forest of Arden in north Warwickshore and around Coventry.
