"There is a rookery across the road, so my airspace is dominated by Rooks as they go about their daily business. In autumn especially, I am treated to splendid displays of aerobatic skill. This is a time for some preliminary courtship, and many of the birds are flying in pairs. Sometimes, a couple or even a small goup will break off and go off on a switchback chase, occasionally showing a peculiar slow-flapping flight in which the wings are raised higher than normal."
